Registering and Advising

As you plan to register for classes, first find your checksheet for your major and option. Look at the timetable to see which classes are available, and plan your schedule. Then meet with your advisor to discuss your progress, your proposed schedule, and any other questions you may have. Finally, register for your classes. If you have any questions about choosing classes or registering, contact your advisor or the CNRE Advising Center.
  • Advising

It can be easy to get lost in a large university, so CNRE students each have a faculty advisor to help them chart their course to a degree. Students meet with their advisor every semester before registering for classes.

  • Registration

Once a plan and schedule have been agreed upon by student and advisor, registration itself is usually straightforward. You request courses during the Course Request period, and then you can add or drop courses during Registration.

  • Graduation Requirements (Checksheets)

Each major and option has its own list of courses that are required for graduation, with some flexibility to allow you to tailor your plan of study to your own interests.

  • Timetable of Classes

The timetable lists the courses that are being offered each semester, by major and location. Use this as you plan your schedule before registering.

  • Change Major or Option

Are you interested in switching from another college to CNRE? Are you already a CNRE student, but you want to change do a different major or option in CNRE? The process (and forms) for each type of major change are listed here.

  • Student Forms

For anything else, you will probably need a form, like to be force-added to a course, to do an independent study project, or to change a major.

  • The Advising Center

If your advisor can't help you with your questions or problems related to registration, contact the CNRE Advising Center.
