Austin Short (’89, ’91) named Delaware deputy secretary of agriculture

May 15, 2017 – Delaware’s newly confirmed secretary of agriculture, Michael Scuse, named Austin Short (’89 B.S. forestry, ’91 M.S. forest biometrics) as deputy secretary of agriculture.

Short has been deputy agriculture secretary since 2010, serving under the previous agriculture secretary. He also served as a Delaware state forester from 1995 to 2008 and as president of the National Association of State Foresters from 2006 to 2007.
