Wildlife Major Leads ‘The Fantasticks’

Nov. 15, 2011 – Alex Garretson, a wildlife science major from Rockville, Md., held a lead role in the Department of Theatre and Cinema’s spring production of “The Fantasticks.” The musical tells the story of Matt, played by Garretson, and Luisa, who meet and fall in love despite their parents’ attempts to keep them apart. “We rehearsed for about three months and the show ran for two weeks with 14 performances,” said Garretson. The cast rehearsed six nights a week, with an increased schedule of up to 12 hours a day during the week before the show’s opening. Bravo, Alex!
