Undergraduate Student

Mary Anna Garifo

Major: Geography with concentration in Geospatial and Environmental Analysis

Expected Graduation Date: May 2016

I have been involved in undergrad research in Paleoenvironment working in a lab analyzing earth core from Dominican Republic. I have been a volunteer coordinator for two organizations, managing over 250 students to create volunteer opportunities for them and to improve the system to allow volunteering to be more convenient for the members in the organizations. I worked over 20 hours a week for a year at Virginia Tech’s Office of Event Management working to achieve higher satisfaction for events on campus. This semester I have worked to create a position at the Odyssey where I will write about science and technology, with the intent of researching current relevant news to help Blacksburg community stay inform of things that are happening. I am a senior looking for either an internship or full time position for this summer or next year.
