Undergraduate Student

Morgan Altizer

Major: Environmental Policy and Planning

Expected Graduation Date: May 2017

  • Minor: Spanish

My name is Morgan Altizer and I am a senior, third-generation Hokie from Denver, Colorado. I grew up skiing and hiking in the Rocky Mountains almost every weekend. The natural beauty and the need to preserve our natural resources influenced my decision to study Environmental Policy and Planning here at Virginia Tech. Throughout my time at this university, my eyes have been opened to a multitude of environmental issues and policies. However, I’m extremely optimistic about the future and firmly believe that the human population is capable of progress.  I am a former intern for the Virginia Tech Office of Sustainability and have held internships with the City of Newport News Sustainability Division as well as a nonprofit, Net Impact, in San Francisco California. Upon graduation, I plan to move back to the west coast and pursue my interests in corporate sustainability programs in the private sector.
